James Trikal is brilliant in many fields, but especially in astronomy. That and the fact that he is an amazing pilot makes him the perfect helmsman. He graduated the academy as a Lieutenant, Jr. Grade but was quickly promoted to Lieutenant. He served aboard only three starships. Now he serves aboard the USS Dragon, which is his fourth ship.
